Since graduating from Marquette University School of Dentistry in 1988, Dr. B. Patrick Schaefer has spent more than 30 years building a career around one idea: the best dentistry comes from seeing the whole picture. His advanced training in orthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, implantology, and CAD/CAM dentistry allows him to take a multidisciplinary approach to a wide range of restorative cases. Along the way, Dr. Schaefer grew a large group practice in Lansing, with additional locations in Okemos and Brighton, Michigan. Today, he focuses his clinical care on endodontics, oral surgery, implant dentistry, and restorative procedures while also mentoring young dentists.
His passion for dentistry extends well beyond his own patients. Schaefer Dental Group hosts “implant days,” giving dentists from across the country the opportunity to observe implant placement and grafting techniques. Dr. Schaefer also leads continuing education at his training center, welcoming his team, local dental professionals, and dentists from around the world to learn and grow together.

Dr. Louison Manningham
Dr. Louison Manningham’s path to dentistry began with a fascination for science and a desire to turn that knowledge into meaningful care. After growing up in Clio, Michigan, he earned dual degrees in biology and biochemistry from the University of Michigan-Flint in 2008, followed by a master’s degree in biology in 2011. He later earned his DDS from the University of Detroit Mercy and joined Schaefer Dental Group in Brighton, MI in late 2016. Dr. Manningham enjoys the variety that comes with general dentistry, with interests in orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, pediatrics, prosthodontics, endodontics, and minor oral surgery. Always looking to grow, he continues to expand his knowledge in comprehensive orthodontics, implant dentistry, and cosmetic prosthodontics.
At the heart of his approach is a simple belief: great dental care should respect the person behind the smile. He works closely with the Schaefer Dental Group team to provide high-quality treatment tailored to each patient’s needs, choices, and cultural beliefs. Outside the office, you might find him playing tennis or hockey, kayaking, golfing, skiing, or discovering a new restaurant while traveling. With Canadian and Hispanic roots, Dr. Manningham also takes pride in the diverse cultural background of his own family.
